THE LITTLE MERMAID

Anderson Young Ballet Theatre invites audiences to journey beneath the waves with The Little Mermaid, an enchanting original ballet inspired by the timeless tale of adventure, discovery, and finding where you truly belong.

In a world where the mysteries of the sea meet the wonders of the world above, a curious young mermaid dreams of discovering what lies beyond the ocean she has always called home. Drawn toward a life she has only imagined, she embarks on an extraordinary journey filled with new friendships, unexpected challenges, and a little bit of magic. Along the way, she must find the courage to follow her heart and discover that becoming who you are meant to be sometimes means venturing far beyond the world you know.

AYBT’s The Little Mermaid brings this beloved story to life through expressive choreography, imaginative characters, colorful costumes, and an original musical score by David Arkenstone. While inspired by the classic literary tale, AYBT’s production tells its own story—giving audiences a fresh and uniquely theatrical journey under the sea.

Filled with wonder, adventure, humor, and heart, The Little Mermaid is a ballet the entire family can experience together. From the magic of the underwater world to the excitement of the journey above, this original AYBT production celebrates curiosity, courage, friendship, and the extraordinary places our dreams can take us.

Join Anderson Young Ballet Theatre at the Paramount Theatre for The Little Mermaid, May 22–23, 2027, and experience a world where the ocean is only the beginning of the adventure.
